Directions and Lodging
The nearest airport to the University of Kansas is the Kansas City International Airport (MCI), in Kansas City, Missouri, a 40+ minute drive from Lawrence, Kansas. The best transportation alternative from MCI to Lawrence will be through taxi, uber, lyft or rental car.
If you can coordinate with a group of attendees, you can use a private shuttle service that can transport several people for a reduced price.
Lodging
The optimal place to stay in Lawrence, Kansas in relation to our event is The Oread Hotel. It is roughly a 30+ minute walk from our conference venue in Nichol’s Hall, or a ~20-minute slow ride through campus on public transportation (e.g., route 45).
For a more central experience near downtown there are two nice options. The SpringHill Suites by the river or The Eldrige hotel, which is right on the main downtown street and half a block away from a bus stop. You could be at our venue from either via a 25+ minute bus ride (e.g., on on route 4).
Budget alternatives near our venue do exist (see the Quality Inn & Suites and the Days Inn by Windham). While these hotels seem closer to our conference venue and less costly than the other options, they will be in an opposite direction from the central area of town, mainly in a commercial area, and/or away from most socializing opportunities.
